I'm not so sorry

word

It has been brought to my attention that I have a habit of rubbing my success on others with a social standard lower than mine, well you may be wondering since when   do I pay mind to gossip , rumors or anything spoken behind my back ; those are signs of weakness from deep within.

Where I'm going with this is further back ; that is contrary to popular belief. Like what do you know about living in a one roomed home packed like sardines with both siblings and parents? Need i mention the generational gaps and the difficulties one would face just to take a bath ?

with parents unemployed and it seemed normal cause every single house hold have more unemployed people than the employed, neighbors frown and squirm in your presence because they expect you to beg or borrow something, its obvious they aren't welcome to that no more but you have to stick to the mandate.

I went through school with no lunch box money, full uniform or sufficient stationery i went through it all. While other kids were worried about DJ Careless's big bash... i had to learn how to fund-raise to support myself , seeing that the only income we have is my brother and mom's SASSA i had to sell Snacks and Sweets from primary to high school that went as far as contributing to the costs of my matric dance.

I developed foolish pride, i don't like people feeling sorry for me since then.
Don't help me with anything if you are going to tell everyone about it.
I care a lot about who gets to see me in certain emotional state, i don't like to react at all.
I have grown stoic .

As for dreams or thoughts of the future i had none except for going to bed with a full stomach and waking up with breakfast instead of leftovers, if there's anything i learned and perfected it has to be survival and how to stay driven.

Post high school life entails so many expectations and disappointments from oneself and the family, i went through that too.

Getting education and skills enough to get myself economically active was hard also but i had to soldier on, I remember 1 April 2015 I was too anxious and I experienced heart palpitations and thought its a heart-attack I wasn't ready to die for i knew my existences had a far lesser impact at the time.

I will not forget the days when i would leave home with an empty stomach to go volunteer my time and skills in an NPO just to help others grasp content, little did i know i will end up as a staff member @ TPY.

My grind  haven't been easy but they believed in me, identified me and invested in me and i am a product of it.

I can only imagine how hard it is for my friend Shabba to turn of his sound system for me to come and study at his place since mine is filled to the rafters (talk about being told what to do in your private space).

I left church for i saw that the time i wasted there wasn't appreciated, reciprocated or beneficial instead all its motives were financially driven to a point that if you are gullible ,less discerning and questioning you'd take offense.

I guess what i am trying to say is excuse me if i seem to be bragging about little success, it is called success because it did not come easy.

I was born with no master plan but i just happened to articulate my way to the future.

There is no success without sacrifices and i sacrificed a lot. I lost someone i thought i'd grow old with, I lost Pro Kid and my sanity.

WHAT DO YOU HOLD FOR THE FUTURE

https://mohlalefi-sa.blogspot.com/

The following Blogpost is a reflection of what I have been observing and as such I do not compel anyone to find sense in it, however I ask you to read diligently so you can quote me properly so.....enjoy!

I've heard it said more than once that “we shall see what the future holds for us ", I’m sitting on a lonely corner analysing the trends and listening if not watching the current affairs. In the midst of #FeesMustFall #Poverty and #Unemployment Crime becomes a factor in this equation but hold up wait...Those are symptoms of a problem we think we are experiencing.

We as a nation have been challenged to act within our capacity to deal with the problems we have for the good of this country, and of course our future.
"It is counter-intuitive to ask  What do we hold for the future than it is to say "what does the future hold for us"
It is a no brainier that the future belongs to us but what efforts are we putting in place to shape the quality of the lives we desire to live in future?

Is it a role we can expect answers for from our politicians, we need to take a stance as one and see to it that we do the little we can to improve ourselves? It is no doubt our country is in a undesirable condition as of yet, I am from a underprivileged background and I won't blame it on my adversity for the adverse effects in my life but rather our education system, I would like to think that I speak for masses when I say it is poor and further more I will take time to moralize you a picture.

Compared to our neighboring countries that are struggling economically we have poor grades and our education is irrelevant for most, after learning how to read and write some of the things that formed part of the curriculum were not compulsory for all....can I please set the tone for this one, let me start by outlining the fact that not everyone is going to be successful through academic skills as we are all given and gifted uniquely.

With all that said I would strongly suggest/propose that we adopt the same model in place for Zimbabweans and our neighbouring countries, Zimbabwe will be the centre of my argument for obvious reasons. Our country is populated by people from all walks of life and their standards of living are far better than our and as such that simply implies that there is something they are doing different compared to us, the education system I have touched based about on the previous paragraph is integrated with technical skills that enables the people of the country to be able to fend for themselves and also be spoilt to choice where choice is limited.

Possessing technical skills maybe a thumbs down for social circles but a serious thumbs up for ones finances, I can go in detail about why my proposal is worth consideration and give you different good elements we can copy from our diverse African fellows brethren.

What more do you see that can improve us as a black nation not as south Africans but as African’s for now it is more of a wish than it is a reality but as an African you can hence the last 3 letters of the word African reinforce that you "CAN"

Being a Brother

loveth
copyright

Being a brother is not an easy job, it is a very tiring role there is in the family regardless of whether you are the oldest or the youngest. I for one is a brother to five fellow siblings, and yes I am the fifth of the six surviving kids of his Majesty Sir Thulani E. Majara and Her Highness Smangele E. Majara's household.

As a brother you are born a baby boy
with unique Personality, Pure instincts to Protect , Provide and at Times be the Professor for your siblings.
All that is achieved after a process of aggressive self-assurance and it makes you a person given to making bold decisions for you and your families survival, every step in the journey of brotherhood and decisions made technically shapes you to be the man you are soon to be.

we are born boys life turns us into man Isn't ironic that Life is like an Initiation school proclaims such benefits? Anyways that's besides what I want to bring to your attention, moving right along.

The qualities is mentioned earlier on are those I feel are very important but they are nothing if you don't know when to improvise, there are many child headed families out here and some have a brother co-parenting their own siblings.

I for one was raised in a broken family, I guess its only fit for me to say I am talking from experience when I am defining a brother. I have a Brother Name Sbongile , she had to grow up on demand and the following qualities are compiled retrospectively of the acts she engaged in.

  • Personality

he is meek, assertive and warm hearted with a pinch of savage.(I guess its a standard procedure for a Majara )

  • Protect

yes being a brother entails that Pure instincts and necessary jealousy to protect yourself, family from any kid of harm and he grew up a specialist in that task. I was never bullied or in need from way back when he was I highschool.

  • Provide

by provide I mean everything within his means to see the family through hurdles in life, most of the people who grew up under similar circumstances are serving sentences as a result of various offences across the entire spectrum of criminal activities but not him.

  • Professor

He assumed the role of co-parent,assisted us academically ,mentored me. He seems o have always had a fountain of wisdom that he occasionally tapped into to give sound advice or help with academics stuff and still remain top of his class till this day.

So I must clear this one for all, being a brother isn't always biological, it can also be based of genuine brotherly love, care and respect.
Rest in peace to PRO a fellow brother I never met but touched me n inspired me through music.

Do It Because You Can

Welcome to FBFDOINGTHEOINGS, In todays log i am sharing an extract from the below mentioned book  by
BY: DR M.TIBANE
[ADAPTED DO IT BECAUSE YOU CAN]
[BY: DR M TIBANE]

I found it very useful for self-help, i hope you also find it useful

CONVICTION IS LOOKING TO THE FUTURE FOR INSPIRATION

The words “I BELIEVE I WILL DO IT” (CONVICTION) mean that I believe in the future, in my destiny, in my vision. They mean that I believe that completing a journey is better than its beginning.
They mean I was born for something special that is why you have role models who are influential.

CONVICTION IS PREFERRING THE TRUTH OVER THE FACTS
The words "I believe I will do it" focus on the truth, it is interesting to note that there’s a difference between a FACT and the TRUTH.
FACT: the way things are
TRUTH: the way things can be.

In life I strongly encourage people to choose not to be frustrated by facts but instead to be encouraged by the truth. What matters is not the way things are, but the way things can be.

Remember, BUTTERFLIES are not born butterflies….but they are born caterpillars.

When you see a caterpillar on the ground the FACT is you are looking at a caterpillar.
The TRUTH is you are looking at a potential butterfly.

Even though butterflies are born caterpillars, they are born to become butterflies.
It may be a fact that you are born poor but the truth is you are born to become prosperous.

CONVICTION GIVES US THE REASON TO TRANSFORM

Conviction implies transformation
The bible tells us that a scholar named PAUL wrote in ROMANS12:2

It is in fact dangerous to conform content and form gives you conform, content with present form to be satisfied with your status quo to be satisfied with being a caterpillar.
Below is your new tool for saving yourself the headache associated with problem solving…it is called

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

1.RECOGNIZE
It is important to recognize or acknowledge the need to change your convictions
-Write the acknowledgement down.

2. RESOLVE
Having recognized the need to change your convictions you need a resolution to actually change
-write the resolution down.

3. RETHINK
Rethinking means convincing yourself with reasons why you should change, you can tabulate lists of convictions then compare the two lists.

4. REJECT

Be brave and reject the old convictions in word and in deed
It may help you to write down words like “I REJECT THE BELIEF THAT I CANNOT….”

5. RESIST

Rejecting old beliefs does not mean that the battle has been won .the temptation to backslide is very common after rejection….soldier on
Anticipate the tendency and resist the temptation.

6. REPLACE
This is probably most important step in re-engineering your convictions the old and now forsaken beliefs need to be replaced with new ones.
If this does not take place you will experience a sense of emptiness…
A human being is a believer
We need to believe in something it will assist the process if you document your new beliefs.

7. RESOUND
This is an effective safety mechanism say the words to yourself.
Speak your new beliefs affirmatively say the words to yourself and the people you trust like family and mentors.

8. REWARD
It is important to celebrate your victories celebrate every positive change you make no matter how small it may be.

9. RELATE

It is important to choose your relationships carefully changing your belief system may require a change of company.

“If you walk with the wise you will be wise, if you walk with a company of fools you’ll be headed for destruction”

Associate yourself with those people who will assist you in upholding your new beliefs.

BELIEVEING is a spiritual phenomenon therefore, positive spiritual company is crucial, for successful re-engineering your convictions.

10 REVIEWS

A continual and responsible review of your convictions is important.

It will help you to grow and progress along your spiritual journey remember that the invisible world (accessed through beliefs) controls the visible world (accessed through knowledge and actions)

Always go an extra mile doing only what is required just isn’t enough to get by it is important to note that it won’t assist you to get ahead opportunity follows those who work the extra mile.

USE IT OR LOSE IT, THAT’S THE SPIRIT.

FIGHT FAILURE

One of the great enemies of success is the fear of failure although fear feels real at a time, there is something else that is actually real and far greater than fear, it is faith.

Our faith is demonstrated by our courage which is the subject of this log.

What if I don’t succeed?

What if I lose money?

What will people say, they’ve said a lot of negative things?

WHAT HELPS IS TO ASK YOURSELF COURAGEOUS QUESTIONS

What if I succeed?

What if you finally fulfill your purpose in life?

I FEEL IT IS BETTER TO DIE WHILE YOU ARE ON YOUR PATH TO DESTINY THAN TO LIVE AS YOU DO…WHICH IS THE SAME AS BEFORE.

IT TAKES COURAGE TO DO THAT

I BELIEVE I CAN DO IT

This will take you to a higher level conviction means believing in possibilities, but courage is the back bone required to stand up for your convictions.

Conviction is your absolute belief in the future sometimes the journey to the future seems endless you may feel you may not arrive and you get so discouraged.

What you need is: COURAGE

EXAMPLES OF COURAGE

Bold cat walking past Dogs

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND STOP BLAME STORMING.

BE IMPERFECT AND NEVER TRY PERFECTION.

SAY NO AND MEAN IT.

EXPERIENCE INTIMATE AND LOVING RELATIONSHIPS.

STAND UP FOR YOUR BELIEFS.

SIGNS OF DISCOURAGEMENT IN A PERSON ARE

FEELINGS OF INADEQUACY

GIVING UP AND NOT TRYING

LACK OF PATIENCE AND SELF CONFIDENCE

FEELINGS OF UNWORTHINESS

TENDENCY TO AVOID COMPETITION

LEADERSHIP

Take responsibilities for your own work and the work of your team (be Assertive).

Trust your own judgement.

Become independent of external evaluations (be unique and bold)

Openly receive honest feedback about job performance and your relationship with management.

Avoid bad revenge.

Try new things.

Be open and honest about your feelings.

HOW TO ENCOURAGE YOURSELF

BE TRUE TO YOURSELF, YOU ARE BEST WHEN YOU ARE YOURSELF.
DON’T PROVE ANYTHING TO ANYONE EXCEPT YOURSELF.
YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON WHO IS EXACTLY LIKE YOU,
NOW THAT YOU KNOW THAT USE THAT TO YOUR BEST ADVANTAGE.
FOR A WHILE YOU MAY HAVE FELT LIKE A WORM (CATERPILLAR) REMEMBER THAT ALL BUTTERFLIES WERE BORN WORMS, FOCUS ON THE FUTURE.
FAIL, DO NOT QUIT FAILURE IS AN EGG THAT YOU BREAK TO MAKE THE OMELETTE OF SUCCESS.
DISABILITY IS NOT INABILITY, WE WERE MEANT TO OVERCOME.
WE ARE MADE OF THE RIGHT MATERIAL WE ARE DESIGNED, ENGINEERED AND BORN FOR ACHIEVEMENT.

IF YOU STUMBLE AND FALL THAT IS PROOF ENOUGH THAT YOU ARE A HUMAN BEING, ONLY WORMS ARE EXEMPT FROM FALLING.
Develop this attitude; its good but i can actually do better.
Maintain the push attitude.
Persist Until Something Happens.
Focus on what you can do to improve what you have.
Encourage others; the more you encourage the weak the stronger you become.

I hope you found something interesting enough to apply in your life and improve it for the better, i am open to feedback, opinion even a follow on social platforms in case you want to get to know FiFi

men and valentines day

Do any man enjoy examinations?
As scholars we spend hours of study time burning the midnight oil in sophisticated silence of the night that is not so sinister to us (at least now more than ever) until the Early hours of the morning…oh my word the preparation is very unrelenting!
The anxiety can be so crippling, in learning institutions , the anticipation for those dreadful weeks in October and November starts as early as August. Facilitators ,Lectures, Professors and Tutors  stoke and embed distress by painting horrific images of the situation to be faced shortly. I for one have never come across anyone who is looking forward to being tested, I surely never enjoyed it not because I am afraid of getting educated but, the fear of failing. To be honest i am terrified of trying and not succeeding.
What is Valentine’s Day for men, if not another examination? A day meant to celebrate love have decayed into a commercialized mess because we’re told that we have to buy things to show how much we love our partners-The more expensive, the better. Because of the general concept of relationships, “it is the man who must make a plan “. It is expected of the dude to buy some kind of gesture to signify his love.
The worst thing about Valentine’s Day is the fact that it is embedded into the calendar and because the women knows it’s coming, the man cannot escape it. Because of the expectation and the understandable desire on the behalf of the man to make his woman happy, there’s tons of pressure to be creative and genuine. (If he is my kinda dude) he has to prepare, he has to deliver, the price for failing is bitter.
Ladies do you forgive your man if he somehow trip on V-day?... See what I mean? In his head, he is once more anxiously trying to cram the equations and formulas into his head for the statistics exam he has to face. Hold up… this is not to say that man are not romantic or do not want to be, but the absolute nature of V-day is very limiting. Not all chaps think that the best way to show their affection is a candlelit dinner and diamond rings or all these other clichรฉ cards, glasses and teddy bear and roses…NO!
We are different and every relationship has its own unique traits. My significant other and I often go and hang out in parks or botanical gardens for picnics and get to observe nature, grab a bite and sip some while having face time (with the phone on flight mode of course ) . other couples go to art galleries, clubs or bungee jumping together. For many men, 14 February feels distressingly unspontaneous because they do things we wouldn’t do. I do not doubt there is also pressure from the women’s side to play along, to say “my bae did not do anything for V-day” would surely prompt a response full of sympathy.
It would help if V-day was treated just like a birthday, you see one isn’t expected to repeat the same thing every B-day over and over again. When thinking of buying a present, we imagine the recipient and try buy something meaningful. The best birthday gifts are somewhat personal and show that people care. The same thing cannot be said for yet another teddy with a heart and a rose.

Love Yours

Welcome to yet another post of which i believe will make u ponder, so today I would like to talk about a very common term we use on our everyday life to define people, objects and whatsoever we see fit.

The word of the day is Beauty.

Let's start of by getting the dictionary meaning of beauty and then allow me to break it down and spill my thoughts on this subject.

Beauty is "The property, quality or state of being "that which pleases merely by being perceived" (Aquinas); that which is attractive, pleasing, fine or good looking; comeliness."

We have different understanding of what is meant by the term and we have became familiar with a wide range of products that are promoted through mass media marketing, they are believed to help improve one's beauty through continuous usage.

Well as I type this I am paralyzed by indecision trying to use basic arithmetic to give the exact figure of products I have used before. From when I was a teen making it into puberty, the pressure was real maintaining a smooth face was a real challenge with pimple breakouts surrounding my brow like a rainbow after the storm.

We all know how unappealing and embarrassing pimples are especially if you have been having a smooth face, a single pimple breakout is enough to take away ones confidence at times.

A wide range of industriesincludingMedia , Pharmaceuticals are well aware of how desperate we are to get rid pimples ,weight and any other things we may not be satisfied with what we may be housing in our bodies which often leads to one adopting their own perception of beauty through the ad's used to sell/promote the products we have had a rise in cases of ;
  • Bullying.
  • Body shamming.
  • Suicide.
  • Obesity
  • Depression.
  • Drug abuse.
  • Anorexia Nervosa.
  • Bulimia nervosa.
All of these problems are on the rise because we are all in a rush to meet and embody the Society's standards of beauty.

what ever happened to simplicity being the ultimate sophistication, i for one thinks all of these problems are real and cannot be avoided by employing the same attitude and actions we have been using ever since.

All these problems are serious and spreading like wild fire across the world but what we need is to challenge ourselves and play an active role in instilling a positive self image in every little interactions we have with the people we hold near and dear, encourage healthy eating and exercise (don't take offense when i suggest we hit the gym i am not insinuating that you are fat i just need a partner at times).

I believe beauty come in all shapes and sizes but if they don't love themselves enough what worse will the significant other be in terms of affection?

Nay , at times less is more allow me to share my story

On a serious note though this is deep,

angisiyo le type yokuvele ngiz'thole on some " falling in love" tip,

because at times its even hard enough to fall asleep.

what's going on now is so new to me,

I wonder what is it that u do to me๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜—๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ข,

I am experiencing so many changes all @ once
this feels like going through puberty hormones ups and down
Never fell for a human like this tshela Mina uphumaphi?

NOTE TO MY YOUNGER SELF

Note to younger self On Wednesday the 31st of January 17 , I’m turning 24, I imagine 24 comes with mixed feelings for most peopl...
